Is a Concierge Cabin Really Worth it?

Celebrity Summit - Concierge Class

There has never been a better time to splurge and upgrade to Concierge Class when traveling on Celebrity! On our recent trip to Bermuda on the Celebrity Summit, we had the pleasure of experiencing the many upgrades made to this class of service.

If you are traveling in a Concierge Class room, there are new priority check-in lines just for you in the terminal. This makes getting aboard that much easier.

Once we boarded the ship we where invited to a private luncheon, just for Concierge Guests in the main dining room between 11:30 and 1pm.  This is just one of the many new extras you get.

They offered two gourmet selections for the main course, a lovely sea bass or rack of lamb.  I selected the rack of lamb, medium rare.  It melted in my mouth, so tender and delicious.  The meal was something you would expect from a five star restaurant, excellent service from the waiters to the wine stewards.  This was a very relaxing way to start our cruise. We didn’t have to drag our bags up to the 10th floor to the Ocean View Café and stand in the buffet line to get a bite to eat.

After lunch, we were thrilled to have access to our own private Concierge located on deck 8 in the library! It couldn’t have been easier; she booked our specialty dining as well as took our reservations for other exclusive Concierge events.  She was extremely helpful giving us great tips on how to get around while in Bermuda. The information on the bus and ferry services saved us time and money.  This young lady went above and beyond what one would expect, while we were with her, she even offered to assist a special needs traveler with getting on and off the ship to the ferry.  This level of service is unmatched by the other cruise lines we have been on.

Concierge cabins are located in premium areas of the ship.  Ours was on the back of the ship which offers extremely large balconies with commanding views either while underway or in port.  The luxury does not end there…a chilled bottle of Blanc de Blanc is there waiting for you when you enter your room for the first time along with fresh flowers, a welcome fruit platter and daily canapés. It certainly made us feel very special.

On the first sea day, the Concierge scheduled an exclusive destination seminar. This private event was very informative and well worth the time...we have been to Bermuda before and we very surprised by how much we learned.

When we were leaving Bermuda, the Concierge had planned a private sail away party for us on the helicopter pad on the front of the ship, with champagne and appetizers. Unfortunately the weather had other plans and rain forced the cancellation of that special event.

When your cruise is over, a special lounge is set aside to insure priority disembarkation. It could not be easier.

From the luxurious bedding to the excellent stateroom service, having a Concierge cabin is worth every penny!
