Relax and unwind from the stresses of your wedding by sailing away on a cruise ship for your honeymoon. This vacation should be one that you truly remember, so be sure to make the most of it. With a bit of planning and by following a few simple tips, you can make your honeymoon the most memorable vacation of your life.

Tip #1: Splurge on the Suite

A honeymoon is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so don't hesitate to go all out on your cruise accommodations. Instead of booking a lower priced cabin, opt for a suite with a balcony instead. You will get all of the privacy and luxury that you deserve to celebrate your newlywed status. Many suites come with exclusive perks that include butler or concierge service and priority seating options for shows and dining.

Tip #2: Opt for a Cruise with Fewer Ports

After all of the time and energy that is put into planning a wedding, the honeymoon is a time to unwind and relax. Rather than choosing a cruise that has a port intensive itinerary, opt for a cruise that makes fewer stops. Sea days allow for a more leisurely schedule and more time to enjoy the amenities on the ship.

Tip #3: Indulge in a Spa Day

There is no better way to connect as a couple than to spend time getting pampered together. Be sure to book treatments early since couple's massages tend to sell out quickly. Some cruise lines offer couple's treatments in the privacy of the cabin or even on the beach at a tropical port.

Tip #4: Get Treated Like Royalty

Spend more time with your beloved by taking advantage of your personal concierge or butler. They will make sure that all of your needs are taken care of. Additionally, they can set up private dining in your cabin or on your balcony to enjoy a romantic dinner alone.

Tip #5: Pay Attention to Travel Dates

If you want a cruise with fewer children onboard, be sure to avoid booking during summer vacation or school holidays. The number of child passengers skyrockets during these times. While many ships have adults-only decks, meals and other activities can get pretty chaotic. If you must travel during these times, consider booking with a cruise line that caters more to couples and older clientele.

Tip #6: Register Your Cruise Fund

If you don't need a lot of items to set up a new home, then add your cruise fare to the wedding registry. Instead of blenders, china, or another set of flatware, allow guests to contribute money towards your honeymoon. Doing so will enable you to splurge on all of the luxuries for your once-in-a-lifetime vacation.
