When it comes to travelling abroad, two of the most repeated queries we receive are, firstly, "How much money should I carry for gratuities?" and secondly, "Should I bring US dollars (USD) or change them into the local currency?"
- Usually, if you're planning a week-long getaway, we suggest allocating around $15-$20 per day for tipping, preferably in small denominations like ones and fives. If you've received exceptional service, feel free to throw in a ten or even a twenty.
- As a general rule, most resorts accept and prefer USD. However, there are a small number of destinations that might not, so it's essential to confirm this with your specific resort prior to your trip.
