Derek Berg Travel
Using a travel agent costs you nothing. I earn my commission from the companies I book with, such as cruise lines, hotels, and resorts. This commission is already included in the price of your trip, so there’s no extra cost to you. If you don’t use a travel agent, that fee simply goes back to the vendor. While I might not get a commission on every part of your travel, I’m happy to offer those services for free when you book the rest of your trip with me. You get expert advice and service without any additional cost or risk.
I’ll often book trips directly from vendors, just like you would on their websites. However, the agency I work with has access to group rates, booking engines, and exclusive deals that might not be available to you or the “general public”. Having a travel agent shop around for you is a huge perk. I’ll search every nook and cranny to find the best deal possible, including options that might not be available to you on your own.
Many people enjoy planning their vacations and want to be involved in the process. Using a travel agent doesn’t take that away from you. I can handle as much or as little of the planning as you want. Booking with me means you have access to my support and knowledge throughout the planning and traveling stages. Some clients have me find them a great rate and book the trip, while they handle the rest. Others prefer me to manage everything. Most fall somewhere in between. Booking with me means you have unfiltered access to support whenever you need it. If something goes wrong during your trip, you know who to call to help you sort everything out.
Travel enough, and issues will inevitably come up. It can be scary, stressful, and aggravating to deal with delays, interruptions, and problems during your vacation. Booking with a travel agent gives you a partner to help you navigate these scenarios. One phone call or text to me and I can save you time and stress. I can represent you to the companies you’re dealing with, re-book flights, hotels, and more, ensuring everything is sorted out so you can get back to enjoying your vacation as soon as possible. I’m glad to help you avoid the common mistakes and potential issues I see on a regular basis. Make your problem my problem and continue enjoying your trip.
Everyone has a goal for their vacation, whether it’s relaxation, adventure, culture, or food. Sometimes, what you want to achieve might come in a different form than you initially imagined. To start planning your travels, I’ll ask you many questions about what you’re looking for in a vacation. Often, I’ll find a destination that fits you better than you initially thought. For example, if you enjoy quiet relaxation, trying new cuisines, or cultural enrichment you might not want a 4-day Carnival cruise. Similarly, someone who wants to party, stay up late, eat American food, and participate in a belly flop competition doesn’t need to sail on Viking Ocean Cruises. I’ll find a fit for you that you didn’t even know you needed, within your desired price range (often better or with more perks!) My goal is to broaden your travel horizons and find you unique trips and amazing memories.
I’m excited to start planning your vacation and love adding to the anticipation and excitement of your upcoming adventure.
